Parent's Corner...Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  What does your ministry offer for my child?

A:  We desire for students involved in Briarlake Student Ministy to experience meaningful life in Jesus Christ. Students have several opportunities to gather together and be challenged towards a growing relationship with Christ. We welcome students asking questions about their faith and desiring an environment to explore the truth, hope and love that God offers to us.

On Sunday mornings we invite students to join us for XP3--our Sunday morning curruculum that helps us to explore the Wonder, Discovery and Passion of a relationship with Jesus Christ. Our large group/small group format allows for scriptural teaching as well as a smaller group to discuss applying what students are learning. XP3 is from 10:15-11:15 in D-building.

2:42 (Sunday Night Live) is our Sunday night student ministry and meets from 6-8 pm in D building. This relaxed time centers on the model of community found in Acts 2:42-48. We enjoy dinner, hangout time in the game room, then teaching and small groups. If your student wants to join us for dinner they will need to RSVP to Carmen Stewart (

First Wednesdays occur the first Wednesday night of each month. There is a church-wide dinner in the dining room, followed by a Student-led program beginning at 6:15 pm in the D building.

Q:  When my child goes on a student event, why do I need to fill-out a health form?
A:  This form allows any Briarlake Student Ministry chaperone to get non-life-threatening medical treatment for your child.  Without it, hospitals will not allow minors to get treatment.  Also these forms have a medical history section.  This section keeps our chaperones aware of any medical concerns.
