Why are we doing this?
We have an opportunity to improve our programming and facilities in order to move forward and reach the next generation. Briarlake has a legacy of reaching its community and ministering to families with specific ministries to children and students. Children and teens face many challenges today, and we must do our best to help them as they make crucial life decisions. Our task is to help them discover a personal relationship with Christ and show them how God’s church can make a positive difference in their lives.
How much will this cost, and how will we pay for it?
This will be a pay-as-you-go project. It is anticipated that it may take up to 18 months to raise the total amount needed to complete the project. The total cost is projected to be $1.2 million, including all the items presented. Actual total cost and job scope will be continually refined during the planning phase of the project. We plan to raise this money though sacrificial giving of the Briarlake family and friends over and above our budget giving. We intend to conclude the project without any long-term debt.
When will this start and how long will it take?
We plan to begin the project according to a strategic work schedule coordinated with our architects, strategic planning & design consultants and contractors, and ultimately, based on available funds received.
What about other needs on our campus?
Our campus of more than 12 acres, including seven buildings built between 1960 and 1983, all of which have been remodeled or updated over the years. We spend more than $100,000 on property maintenance every year. Our dedicated maintenance staff manages upkeep and handles many of our campus improvements. We will continue to support, invest in and improve our existing campus as needs arise. These planned improvements will position our church to handle growth needs for the next several years without any further major facility changes.
What can I do to help?
First, please pray for Briarlake’s leadership and congregation as we seek to be in the center of God’s will. Second, consider what you can give to make this exciting vision a reality. Be willing to sacrifice to make this happen. Third, perhaps you know someone who would like to play a part as our church expands our ministry with this community. Share the vision with them and let them know that their contribution would be greatly appreciated.
